Steven M.F. Cohen is a Secular Franciscan, husband, father & grandfather.
In New York City he attended the High School of Performing Arts, Queens College & the Manhattan School of Music.
He earned a Master of Science Degree in elementary education specializing in environmental education. He has a
Post Graduate Certification in music. He
Facilitates the Educator Essentials Curriculum from Mindful Schools. He
taught at the United Nations International School (NYC) & was choir director where his chorus performed at the United Nations, hospitals & the Queens Botanical Gardens. He taught music at Syracuse City School District, NY for 20 years. He studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) & Compassion Cultivation Training from the University of Massachusetts, Brown University and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Mr. Cohen had one of his watercolor paintings exhibited at the Everson Art Museum.
